WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?

Dermaplaning is a non-invasive treatment that removes dead skin cells and unwanted facial hair utilizing a sterile blade. The skin is left feeling rejuvenated and glowing and more youthful.

We offer two types of Dermaplaning:

  • Dermaplaning Express:
    – This treatment includes a cleanse, full face dermaplaning followed by soothing and calming finishing creams.
  •
  • Dermaplaning Deluxe:
    – This treatment includes the Dermaplaning hair removal followed by a lactic peel and a soothing and hydrating treatment mask. The Dermaplaning deluxe facial also includes steam cleansing and an indulgent facial massage a truly blissful experience.

BENEFITS OF DERMAPLANING:

  • Removes dead skin cells and peach fuzz
  • Reduces the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles
  • Brightens skin tone
  • Eases hyperpigmentation
  • Removes bacteria and clears pores
  • Improves the performance of skincare products

WILL THE HAIR GROW BACK THICKER OR DARKER?

Contrary to a common myth, dermaplaning does not cause hair to grow back thicker or darker. The hair on your face is vellus hair, which is soft, fine, and barely noticeable. Dermaplaning removes this hair temporarily, but it does not change the type of hair that will grow back.

HOW LONG WILL THE HAIR BE GONE?

The skin should stay baby smooth for around two weeks and thereafter the fine hairs will slowly return. We recommend having the treatment done monthly which will keep the hair growth under control.

IS DERMAPLANING BASICALLY SHAVING?

Dermaplaning is not the same as shaving, it uses a surgical-grade scalpel to gently but effectively scrape off years of dead skin, far more than you could get with any kind of exfoliation or regular shaving blade.

DERMAPLANING AFTERCARE:

Avoid extreme heat for 3 days. Do not use scrubs or other exfoliators for 1 week. Avoid chlorine for 1 week. Apply recommended soothing serums and moisturizers to keep the skin hydrated and reduce any inflammation.

WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE DERMAPLANING?

Clients who have cystic acne, rosacea, sunburn, or extremely sensitive skin should not have dermaplaning. It is not safe when on strong Retinol or Roaccutaine.

Please notify your therapist if you have had a strong peel or are using any strong vitamin A products prior to your Dermaplaning treatment.

Dermaplaning is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
